At UK-NSI, our advanced manufacturing facility in Redditch, UK, is equipped with three high-volume Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines, delivering precision, efficiency and quality at every stage of electronic assembly.  Our factory operates to the highest industry standards, including IATF 16949, ensuring consistent quality, process control and full traceability.

High Speed SMT Production Lines

UK-NSI operates three high-volume SMT lines, each capable of placing between 124,900 – 140,900 components per hour (CPH) at IP 9850 standard, compliant for accuracy, repeatability and minimal defects.

Advanced Reflow Soldering & Thermal Processing

After component placement, PCBs pass through our Heller Reflow Ovens, ensuring a consistent, high-reliability soldering process.

10-Zone Reflow Ovens – Key Features:

  • Lead-free reflow process with closed-loop thermal control
  • Centre Board Support to prevent warping
  • Open-loop water cooling for controlled cooling rates
  • Cool-Pipe Flux Management System to reduce contamination

Our advanced thermal profiling and process control guarantee reliable solder joints, minimising defects such as cold solder joints, voiding and component misalignment.

Quality assurance is embedded in every stage of our SMT process. We utilise industry leading optical, X-ray and in-circuit testing systems to verify placement accuracy, solder joint integrity and electrical performance.

Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) & X-Ray Analysis

  • Koh Young 3D Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) for paste volume and alignment verification
  • Yamaha YSi-V 3D AOI on all three SMT lines for automated defect detection
  • YSi-X X-Ray Inspection (1 line) for BGA, QFN and hidden solder joint analysis

In-Circuit Testing (ICT) & Functional Testing

  • Agilent Keystone i3070 & i5000 ICT Systems for electrical verification
